What the fuck is this? Two new ignorant ass Autobots: Skids and Mudflaps. I saw Transformers 2 tonight and was trippin. Are you serious? I can look passed all the stupid jokes and whatever else they threw in there for the kids but I can’t stay quiet about two robots that sound like they’re “black” and speak in slang and can’t read and call people “pussy.” There was some alien scripture and letters that Shia Labeouf needed translated so he asked these two if they can read and their responses were something to the effect of: “Reading? Nah, we don’t know no reading.” Something like that. Basically, some ebonic ass, slavery, mastah, bullshit! So, how do I respond to this shit? How would you respond to two ebonic/ broken english speaking robots that can’t read and one of them ,Skids, has a fuckin gold tooth – and they were both stupid as shit? I mean goofy and dumb acting. Kinda like a Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars. Oh, and Skids has bucked teeth- some typical “duh” shit. And at the end of the movie everybody was clapping. The kids loved it! It’s a smash!
Do I have to say I’m offended or can you tell? Now, black people/ people of color have come a great distance. It is more than unacceptable for Hollywood to feed this shit to the new generation. Now, I use the “N” word in jest and amongst friends and I cuss like a sailor at times and I’ll call anybody (male or female) a bitch whenever I’m ready. And I love Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, and Richard Pryor too. But I would never feed any of that shit to children.
Dear Hollywood:
I understand that your ultimate objective is to make money and I’m cool with that. But you need to find a way to hook the kids that doesn’t include making black people look like fucking idiots. Some of us do just fine looking like asses without your help. It’s a stereotype that we’re trying to slowly put behind us.

I haven’t seen it. But, I must say that it is unfortunate to see the overriding strength of the almighty dollar….again. That does hurt my feelings whenever I see stereotyping and derogatory references to anyone but in particular, those who still have a mountain to climb. The good thing is the power of the almighty dollar can be wielded as both a sword and a shield. So, make some noise and air the really dirty laundry.

I agree. I was offended too. I saw a lot of young kids in the theater and between that and the needless sexual references, I was wondering if parents would complain. I can just imaging all the little kids running around calling each other “pussy” and “bitch” because the Transformers said it so it must be cool.

And this comes from a director (Michael Bay) who success was largely built by films starring African-Americans (Bad Boys I & II). Funny how that love / hate thing works.
On a side note, our Latino brothers didn’t fare much better with the portrayal of Shia’s La Beouf’s screaming, bumbling roommate.
This flick is multi-layered in bullshit.

I was sitting behind a family of five, with three very young brats. As soon as one of these horrible Autobots said “pussy,” what did they do? They jumped out of their seat and screamed at at each other, then laughed. Bravo, Bay, bravo.

Listen. Those characters, to me, were offensive. That’s that. Hillbillies, niggas, mexicans, rednecks, or whatever. This is a kids movie and I didn’t think it was cool. The perpetuation of ignorance was a bit much for me. “Pussy” was more than I was expecting. I’m a huge fan of the old Transformers and don’t recall any bullshit like that. Totally unnecessary. I wonder what a theatrical movie would be like if it wasn’t made for the money. Dream on, right? I guess those are called documentaries. I’m def over it but I wasn’t going to stay quiet about it. I’m not boycotting the movie but I was really pissed!!!! John I’m guessing there are some things that piss you off that I may not give a shit about. That’s how it goes sometimes. Speak out against what you believe or don’t believe in as you’re doing now. It’s all good, man.

I may have said this before but if not I’ll say that I’m definitely over this stupid movie. I am a huge Transformers fan and def had higher expectations. As far as that race stuff goes I’m listening to you. You make good points. But I just happen to be a person of African decent so I kinda know that stupid doesn’t equal black. Because I’m over it I’ll just say that you have the right to your opinion as do I. I thought the movie was corny. It had a few cool scenes but it was pretty stupid. And these two robots got on my nerves and that’s it. That’s the end of it….hopefully. Go get the DVD and be happy. It’s not for me.
